THE HOW AND WHY OF MAGNETIC FIELD INDUCTION THERAPY

  • The inducing of magnetic fields into body tissue causes bioelectric current activity which may assist in the normalising of the electron flow in the body. This may help in the temporary relief of pain and also in the repair of damaged tissues.
  • It has been established that "pulsed oscillating" fields are many times more beneficial to the body than the direct pulsed or even the static magnetic fields often used.
  • Resulting from recent research this modality has now been developed even further with specifically shaped multi-rhythm bio-waveforms of oscillating magnetic fields that are complimentary to normal body rhythms and frequencies.
  • These modified magnetic fields can influence the ion exchange at the cellular level, and have an effect on blood activity and flow.
  • At extremely low frequencies of 0.5 - 9 Hz (pulses per second) there is a mild constrictive effect in blood flow. This is most important for treatment of acute stages of injury to reduce swelling, infection and inflammation.   • At frequencies between 12 - 18 Hz the major blood vessels and the nutrient-carrying capillaries are dilated, allowing increased blood flow which is necessary for the secondary stages of healing.

  • These extremely low frequency, low power and biologically compatible magnetic inductions subject nerve and cell tissues to changing electrical potentials which may induce a temporary analgesic effect and promote healing of damaged tissue.

  • The effects of these magnetic inductions may also include:

b. Muscle repair and toning

  • This therapy device does not need to be in contact with the body as the coil induces micro-electric currents in the body by means of the pulsed magnetic fields. In the coil it is only 13.0 volts AC rms, but a typical induced voltage is in the range of just 50?V (that is only 50 micro volts) which is commonly noted on an EEG (Electro Encephalo Gram) which records the electrical activity from the brain. The 11 basic frequencies used are selected from 0.5 Hz to 18 Hz, which are within normal EEG frequencies.
