Whole Energy Essences Accentuate the Positive
Whole Energy Essences vibrate in harmony with our innate health, wisdom and wholeness. They support our state of wellness, awakening us to the knowledge and use of our gifts, talents, and abilities...to our sense of love, peace, and strength. By accentuating our strengths, we reveal the tools needed to remedy our difficulties.
This focus on health represents a real change in perspective from many other forms of care. These essences are not intended to eliminate symptoms or problems. Some users may experience improvement in troublesome symptoms because the essences help them better balance and strengthen themselves.
Some users and practitioners may like to select among our essences by assessing the recipients symptoms or identified problems. This is a valid and useful way to look at these essences and one which is in agreement the approach of the majority mainstream healthcare. This is an easy way for people to interface with essences and the FlowerBase module was written to accommodate this approach. The questions were written with this methodology in mind.
Users of this FlowerBase module may also select essences by focusing upon the recipient's strengths, talents, and gifts instead of their symptoms or problems. Because we believe that they deliver truly holistic care, we feel our essences are even more effective when they are used to help us accentuate the positive. This FlowerBase module was written to accommodate this approach; depend more upon the keywords and descriptions than the questions in this module when doing a strength-based assessment.
We believe that essences are one of many ways to reacquaint ourselves with the vibrancy, creativity, and energy we had as children. We emphasize that while healing can be catalyzed by their use, it is the Life Force within the user that accomplishes the healing.

Concord is about 20 miles northwest of Boston. This town has quite extraordinary energy as can be attested to by its remarkable history. The energy of transformation, revolution, and new vision is anchored deeply here. It is no accident that the Whole Energy Essences were called into being from this place.
For what remains a fairly small town (16,000 residents), Concord has had a substantial influence the course of world history and literature. For example, the long ferment of colonial dissent took new shape in Concord as the site of the first engaged battle of the American Revolution (where the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired). Concord was also the heart of what is called the Golden Age of American literature and philosophy: the home of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Walden Pond, Louisa May and Bronson Alcott, the Transcendentalist movement, and one of the homes of Nathaniel Hawthorne. Some credit Concord as the place of origin of the environmentalist/conservation movement.
The events and citizens of Concord continue to influence individuals, nations, revolutionaries, artists, and statesmen all over the globe.
The plants for these essences were grown in a humble residential garden maintained in the service of Spirit. Years of energy work on the land precedings their creation. Through this simple setting it is demonstrated that all ground is sacred ground and that keys to our health and wellbeing are always close at hand.

Gem Essences
The gem essences may be used alone but really shine when used in tandem with other essences. Each gem essence is meant to interface with our different "bodies:" physical, mental, emotional, etc. Energies from other essences can more easily penetrate these aspects when the corresponding gem essence is used. See the descriptions of the gem essences for illustrations of how this works.
Fruit/Flower Essences
For people well-versed in the use of essences, our flower essences are probably quite easy to understand. However, the presence of fruit in two of the essences (joined with a flower in one, alone in another) may be a bit new to some essence lovers.
Certainly, fruit and flowers are deeply connected: the former would not exist but for the latter. Think of the fruit as a more evolved state of the flower energy. It is the intention of the flower come quite literally to fruition. We believe that as humans evolve, essence makers will be called upon to make more fruit essences in order to access some of this more highly evolved plant energy.
LifeStage(C) Essences
These amazing essences help us through our own and our loved ones' developmental stages. In each phase of life, the individual faces new challenges and strengths. And as a result, so do the people around them. So, for example, the mother adjusting to her child's teen years might think of using the Adolescence blend for both of them.
These blends are also fabulous for aid with progressing through a project. Consider the start of a project to be Childhood, the middle to be Mid Life, and the final stage to be Senior, etc. and use the corresponding blend.
Full Moonlight Essences
Each of these essences is made from the light and energy of one of the full moons of 1996. Continually moving through its monthly phases, the moon is a symbol of change; the full moon the ripeness of transition, the zenith of change. Essences made from such lunar energies produce powerful tools for transformation. Hang onto your hats!
Full moon energy challenges accepted conventions of reality. We are "loony" during the full moon because what we do, feel, and think are at odds with what is considered "normal". It is because of this that the energies of the full moon challenge us to break the bounds of our old perspectives, patterns and habits.
Astrologically, the understanding of any one's action is embodied by not just the sign of that particular full moon, but by the positions and energies of all of the planets, asteroids and stars.
Pattern-Breaking Kit
While many of the Whole Energy Essences work with creating new ways of being, there are seven with a special focus on "pattern-breaking". These target old patterns from the past, and each differ significantly on how they regard these patterns and how to get break free from them. One approach can be to use them in succession, perhaps in the following order, but depending upon the individual circumstances present.
Sedum is unconcerned with what the old patterns are and why they exist. This essence just wants to break the chains and get and keep moving regardless of the circumstances. This is important if the current state of affairs is still reinforcing the old patterns.
Buckwheat Flower can't get over the past because the lessons from it haven't been understood enough to integrate them into present wisdom. This is for understanding the patterns of the past. There is far less terror and resistance present than with Fresh Perspective/Aries Full Moon.
Fresh Perspective (Aries Full Moon) understands terror about the past. Learning from and breaking free of the past hasn't happened because it is too frightening to even consider.
Power Cleansing (Leo Full Moon) is done with the past and seeks to simply clean house. Lessons from the past have been learned and integrated and now it is a matter of breaking the old habits which have been discharged of their energy.
Crimson Rose brings focus to the here and now so that current circumstances can be seen for what they are instead of through the eyes of the past. The present is all that matters to this essence.
New Creative Outlook focus on taking the freedom from a break with the past to create something new. This targets not being able to look forward to the future. The other "breaking patterns" essences are more focused on the past.
Red Rose sees the entire spectrum of the past, present and future. This essence traces patterns as they were created in the past, the footprints they are leaving now in the present, and the trajectory they describe for the future should the pattern not change.

Alcohol-Free

Essence Pairs
There are a nearly infinite number of combinations you can make with our 63 essences. But among the 26 single fruit and flower essences, we have found there are special pairs...partners with special complementary characteristics. Used together, they accentuate and deepen the action of the left.
For example, if Red Rose is the essence you select, then Tiger Lily would compliment it well. If Tiger Lily is what you choose, then Coreopsis partners with it (this special partner relationship does not seem to go as strongly in the opposite direction).
How We Test Our Essences
Have you ever wondered how we come to understand what an essence is all about? What it can be used for? What its action is? At Whole Energy Essences, testing is a fascinating four-part process.
1. The first step occurs while a new essence is being made. Sometimes the maker experiences an impression or receives intuitive information about its uses.
2. Secondly, what the essence made from can be studied in light of the Doctrine of Signatures. This means that since an essence captures an energetic representation of, say, a plant, then the characteristics of that plant will have meaning for the essence's use. For example, in the case of Malva ("I know my limitlessness"), this plant sets a seemingly infinite amount of seed, almost all of which seems viable. Wind-blown seed starts easily and the plant blooms in either full or part sun or shade. These observations about the plant are in harmony with the concept of limitlessness.
In the case of each of the full moon essences, an astrological chart for the moment of their creation was analyzed to understand something of the energies present. These readings are very much in concert with our experiences during the other parts of the testing procedure.
3. The third step is quite fun: a number of energetically-sensitive and unusually observant people come together to experience the essence. So no tester knows what is being tried, there are always a number of different essences which could be tested, each in an identical bottle with a concealed label. Silently and with notepad in hand, they each receive a few drops of the essence in a cup with a little water. Taking the essence, they record their feelings, thoughts, physical sensations, and anything else they notice during the test about themselves and the world around them. Then they each read their notes to the group. The common threads are searched for. It is very clear how vividly the effects of the essence can be seen....it is quite a stunning experience to witness!
4. Lastly, all of the information from the steps above is considered together. The agreement between the many levels of data is usually remarkable. Though it is rare, if there is significant conflict between the understandings gleaned from the above methods, then the testing process is begun again.
