Mark Skinner, Brisbane, Australia. 2. FLOWERBASE INTRODUCES NEW FLOWER ESSENCE INFORMATION QUALITY STANDARDS In recent times, we have seen the emergence of many new flower essence makers. At this point in time, there are over 60 manfacturers with a combined inventory of several thousand flower essence remedies. The problem that we face is that there are many companies releasing unsubstantiated information on remedies, which leaves the end user in a situation where they are not guaranteed in reproducing the same healing benefits for which claims are made. We have decided to introduce a questionnaire for new companies, allowing only those using scientific research, and controlled methods of manufacture to represent their remedy information in FLOWERBASE. Companies which do not qualify will be given the opportunity of improving their methods, encouraging empirical research and quality manufacturing, which equally assures FLOWERBASE users that the information in the modules they use has been qualified. The FLOWERBASE quality statement reads as follows; "At FLOWERBASE, we are committed to the dissemination of quality information and research on flower and gem essence remedies. The flower essence science currently has no standards by which flower essence researchers and manufacturers can uphold or “prove” information published on their remedies. We see this as threatening to the direction of the flower essence science in terms of acceptance by the orthodox and traditional medicine professions, and will only publish information in future modules on the basis that companies can demonstrate that they have attained a reasonable level of commitment to objective, and empirical scientific research. Manufacturers must also demonstrate that the remedies which they market are also of reasonable quality, in terms of manufacturing and storage methods used." Describe in detail the methods which you use to determine remedy healing properties. 2. Is information which you publish on remedies supported by objective feedback from independent therapists? Describe how this is achieved, and what criteria you use before releasing new information on remedy properties. (Attach complete descriptions on 3 remedies, with evidence of objective feedback). 3. Do you collect case studies? How many and how do you analyse them? Do you train practitioners to collect case studies? Please describe. Have there been any controlled clinical studies with your essences. Please describe, including any statistical analyses. 4. Do you make any explicit claims in your literature on remedy properties regarding the treatment of specific physical symptoms (i.e., physical symptoms which originate independently from the mind/emotion symptoms specified for specific remedies)? If this is the case, please list the remedies, and the physical symptoms or diseases which they treat, as well as supporting documentation. 5. Does your company have a commitment to quality research? Describe in detail what you believe constitutes quality research. 6. Do you use methods such as psychic channeling, personal insight, kinesiology, radiesthesia, or devic attunement to discover the properties of your remedies. If so, please describe your methods, and describe how the accuracy and objectivity of this information is assessed. 7. Do you study the plants from which you make your remedies? Do you do any botanical or scientific research on plant properties? Describe the process. Describe your research notes, using one plant as an example. Questions relating to quality of manufacturing 8. What are your manufacturing guidelines? Please attach any written procedures. 9. Describe which manufacturing procedures are done by hand, and which, if any, are done by machine. 10. Are your remedies potentized or succussed? Describe the method. 11. What steps do you take to ensure remedies are not contaminated by vibrational, bacterial or other foreign pollutants. 12. Describe in detail how you collect flowers (or gems), and what methods you use to ensure purity of mother essences. Describe also the storage methods you use for mother essences and remedies, which ensure preservation of vibrational properties. 13. Where are remedy plants collected? Please describe the natural habitats or gardens used? Are they free from pollution? Are organic methods used in the gardens. 14. How are your remedies transported to the end user? What methods do you use to ensure that potency of remedies are maintained during transportation? Describe your instructions to the end user which ensure maintaining quality of vibrational properties during their shelf life. 15. Describe the environment where the remedies are manufactured, including the general location, and the specific room(s) in which manufacturing takes place. 16. What checking procedures are used to insure against errors in bottling or labelling of essences? How are bottles of various essences identified, and when are labels applied? What records are kept of production? 17. What other measures do you use to ensure quality of manufacturing, and workmanship of your remedies? 18. Have you ever had any remedies returned due to contamination? If this is the case, please describe the circumstances, and the steps you took to rectify this. 19. Describe your company's policies with regard to recycling, re-use of materials, energy conservation, and use of earth-friendly materials.
